To help make the process as smooth as possible, here is a breakdown of the transfer process and what to expect.
1. Agreeing the service
We begin with a friendly consultation to get to know you and to discuss:
- The services you need, such as bookkeeping, tax planning, payroll, invoicing, and compliance.
- Are business professionals with real world experience, who understand the needs of businesses and consumers. We don’t see mediation as a zero-sum game and we use ‘normal’ transparent language that everyone can understand.
This stage ensures everyone is on the same page and it sets the foundation for a productive partnership.
2. Accounts transfer
Once you’re happy to proceed, you need to email your existing accountants confirming the switch. We can provide you with a ‘professional clearance’ template email to make this easier for you. This initiates the official process for transferring accounts:
- Complies with professional standards that require cooperation between accountants.
- Ensures that all handover information, such as tax filings, VAT returns, and payroll data, is complete and shared securely.
- Is handled between Professionalisation and your old accountants.
3. Inform HMRC
To notify HMRC of this change, we will email you a unique digital handshake link, which will take you to your Government Gateway where you can confirm us as your accountant. This allows us to:
- Communicate with HMRC regarding your tax matters.
- Submit returns, request information, and handle correspondence for you.
4. Service Delivery
Once authorised, Professionalisation will:
- Ensure we have your correct details
- Review your HMRC account, and key filing obligations and dates.
- Provide you access to our accounts online
- Review your tax management strategies
- Avoid fees and fines by ensuring you have direct debits setup for things like PAYE and VAT
This step ensures your financial records are accurate and up to date, you are making use of tax
efficiencies available to you, and that you and your business stay compliant with HMRC and
Companies House.
Once the transition is complete, we will work closely with you to:
